Blood Bottle Shortages

We have been informed by the welsh Government there is a UK wide shortage of blood bottles due to a problem with the manufacturer.

ONLY ESSENTIAL blood tests will be booked for the forseeable future. Please note if you have a blood test already booked the GP will be reviewing whether these are essential and we may be in contact with you to postpone your appointment.

This shortage is temporary and expected to last up to 3 months. This does mean that some tests will be postponed until the national stocks recover.

Those patients with the highest risk or clinical need will still receive the blood tests they need, however routine blood tests will be postponed.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by this and thank you for your patience while we work to provide the best health care
