Consultations with a Doctor or a Nurse:

  1. e-Consult

will help you get medical advice more conveniently.  You will receive a telephone or email response by the end of the next working day.  Please go to our Home Page to familiarise yourself with this new appointment system.  Try it out, because you can do a practice run first  :)
  2. Routine telephone or video consultation appointments

can also be made by telephoning 01600 712152 (between 8am and 6.30pm) or emailing us at:

You will be offered a consultation with the next available clinician.  However if you would prefer to wait for a consultation with a particular clinician, please mention this and we will give you their next available slot.

We will always try to offer you an appointment to suit, however we do ask you to book appointments as far in advance as possible.

Please be reassured that you will always be asked to attend the surgery if there is a clinical need to see you.  The clinician will discuss this with you and ensure that you are seen in a safe way.

To limit the number of people in the surgery building you will, where appropriate, be asked to attend your appointment on your own.

Urgent Consultations:

Please dial 999 if you are experiencing signs of a heart attack, signs of a stroke, severe difficulty breathing, heavy bleeding that won’t stop or have a severe injury.

Sick children will be seen as soon as possible.  If you are in any doubt about your child’s health, please telephone the surgery for advise.

If you need an urgent consultation because the problem won’t wait until tomorrow, please telephone the surgery and be prepared to give the member of staff details of your symptoms.  A member of the practice team will return your call.

If you are experiencing dental pain, please visit our Dental Problems page for details on how to access an emergency appointment with a dentist.

If you are experiencing eye problems, in the first instance please contact a Monmouth Optician, who has superior equipment and facilities to treat acute conditions.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
